Shelter in Place information
In this section, we will provide useful information on Shelter in Place guidelines and recommendations.
Did you know? You should have enough food, water, supplies, shelter, etc for everyone. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) suggests that everyone should have enough supplies to be self-sufficient for at least three days in the case of an emergency.
The average person would need about 2-½ gallons of water per day to survive. It’s also important to think about having non-perishable foods (stored in a cool, dry area), a can opener, extra clothes, comfortable shoes, a communication plan to inform relatives, extra medication, cash, portable battery operated radio, a first aid kit and a flashlight with batteries.
