Eco-Awareness Fair

Our Eco Awareness Fair was a huge success!  We had 11 vendors present and there were lots of goodies being distributed as well as information on how to reduce our overall carbon footprint.

We would like to thank our sponsoring vendors for participating in our Fair and we look forward to working with them on our continuing greening efforts.

Fair Recap:

Able Green Janitorial – Explained what green products they use in our building.  They had an array of microfiber tools on display in conjunction with Waxie. They also answered any questions regarding cleaning, chemicals and how to green clean.

San Francisco Public Utilities (SFPUC) – Our water is one of our most precious resources.  Our tenants were able to take advantage of the water programs offered to residents of San Francisco.

Zipcar – Car sharing is an important part of decreasing our carbon footprint.  Tenants were able to sign up for a discounted membership to get started in this great program.

Bay Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD)- Gave participants a chance to sign up to receive notification regarding the air quality so they can be active participants in “Spare the Air” events.

Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) – Everyone wants to know how they can lower their electricity and gas bills.  This was a great opportunity to speak to representatives on both the corporate and residential side to get tips.

Waldeck's Office Supplies for a Small Planet – Displayed a variety of office supplies and green alternatives for our tenants to view and take home.  What a wonderful alternative to buy green and from a local vendor as well.

The Green Zebra – A little book that offers a wide variety of local shops, restaurants, health services, etc.  If you are looking to experience something new and feel good about supporting local, sustainable business.  Great opportunity for our tenants.

Transportation Management Association of San Francisco (TMASF) – What types of city transportation are available?  How often does the BART trains run? Bridge closures? Major traffic jams? This group is your connection to what is going on and how it affects your commute.  All of our tenants benefit from the announcements they provide because transportation affects all of our daily lives.

Golden Gate Disposal – Did you ace the quiz of how to tell the difference between trash and recycle?  Golden Gate Disposal provided stickers, posters, signage for trash, compostables and recycling.  This invaluable information teaches how to handle trash, compostable, and recycling both at home and at work.

San Francisco Bike Coalition (SF Bike Coalition) – Like to ride your bike?  Need more bike lanes? Tenants were able to sign up to receive newsletters, information and a discount on a membership.  By being a member you also get a discount on various bike shops around San Francisco.

Method Home – Our tenant were able to test more natural sustainable products for the home and office.  With a wide variety of products Tenants were able to be introduced or share with others about their positive use of the natural product.

It was our honor to bring together several of the vendors we work closely to achieve these milestones and well as new vendors for our tenants to have a chance to interact with.  303 Second believes working with companies that compliment what we are doing and give our tenants a chance to explore other avenues in an informal, fun but educational platform which can be applied not only at work but also at home.

Adam Lowry and Eric Ryan not only founded one of the fastest-growing private companies in America, they are single-handedly turning the consumer-packaged-goods industry on its head. Eric knew people wanted cleaning products they didn't have to hide under their sinks. And Adam knew how to make them without any nasty toxic ingredients. Their powers combined, they set out to save the world. Enlisting the help of industry veteran Alastair Dorward, they created an entire line of home care products that were more powerful than a bottle of sodium hypochlorite. Gentler than a thousand puppy licks. Able to detox tall homes in a single afternoon. Visit their website at http://www.methodhome.com.
